What is YIC?
Youth in Cinema is a week-long youth summer film-making camp for 7-10 year olds in Seattle, Washington. It will take place in the summer of 2019 over the course of 3 weeks. Children will learn the importance of creativity and how to turn it into movies. The program is all hands-on and will learn technical skills.
What will be taught?
Brainstorming
- Children will learn the importance of gathering ideas through collaboration
Writing
- They will then learn how to transfer those ideas into written scripts
- They will learn how to format a script
Filming
- They will use professional DSLRs and learn how to use them
- They will learn how to get the right shot using angles
- They will learn how to direct their own movies
Editing
- They will learn basic editing techniques and how to put their movie together through completion
Calendar
We will host the program three times with each lasting a week (Monday-Saturday).
Therefore it will take place for three weeks from June 10th to June 29th
